LOL..There are a LOT of titles that are going to evoke your, well, controversial type photos :) This is one that may, and I saw a huge amount of others that can definately fit into that category if others want to go that route.

By the way, I did think of going the yellow submarine route myself, but decided against it. Had a great idea though, but it will most likely be duplicated. :)

I prefer not to have that vision. Maybe we will get a bit lucky this time and he will just resort to carving one out of a 5lb block of cheddar. YIKES though, that image hurt!

You better head for the Country. or perhaps hiphop has dulled your senses?

Perhaps you forgot to drop some acid first? Music is always better if you're on the same drugs as the band was when the wrote it.

I`ve always been heavily influenced by song lyrics when it comes to making up titles for my pics and I was a huge fan of the Beatles in my youth (still am)...so this is pretty much a dream challenge for me.
Now...if I can just find the time to submit !!

Doesn't have to be a title. I can think of one lyric that would fit off the top of my head : )

Now excuse me, I'm headed up the road to Blackburn to dig some holes.

I am old enough to have been a fan of The Beatles since "I Want To Hold Your Hand" hit the charts, hard, in 1964; had an album before the whole country saw them on the Ed Sullivan Show; and was in the 2nd row for their first-ever concert in the USA. They did a lot of different kinds of music, much of the best before and after their drug phase. They towered above their comteporaries in a way no artist has since. Sure the Stones are still touring and putting out great stuff, and Dylan is a hit on satellite radio, but The Beatles had an influence over the music industry that will likely never be matched. Elvis paved the way for Rock n Roll to become mainstream, and Buddy Holly's group donated the inspiration for their name, and some fine tunes. But The Beatles swept the musical imagination of the whole world. (Did anyone know what a sitar was before The Beatles embraced Ravi Shankar?) Not only were they the next big thing when they led the British Invasion, but you could argueably say they were the last big thing too. I doubt that younger people can fully understand how dominating they were at their peak. It's been 35 years since the group broke up but they remain unchallenged in their success, and the influence they generated in the music world.

Everyone should be able to find a title or lyric in their vast catalog that will inspire a great shot. I look forward to voting this one, hope there is a ton of entries.

"Only a couple hundred million Indians," he said with a grin...

My ex-wife, while in HS (she wasn't my wife then, of course, let alone ex) snapped pictures of the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show on the TV screen, processed them into 5x7's, and did a thriving business selling them at 5 bucks a pop in school for the next few days; and 5 bucks wasn't chump change in those days...

We're dating ourselves, big-time, Harv...

Robt.

"Choose one line or title from a Beatles song and make it come to life in a photograph. The title or lyric will form your title."

:-D

Lots and lots and lots of possibilities here!

Me too!!! I genuinely do not like almost all of their music, save for one or two songs (maybe). I'll probably just have to give everyone the benefit of the doubt about titles and/or lyrics, because I don't know them anyway. I sure don't plan to research them just to vote on the challenge itself.

Thank Pete it's not a Yoko Ono challenge...then I'd REALLY be in trouble. ;)

I think that entrants would be well-advised to stick to the more well-known lyrics and titles anyway, just because obscurity never does well here. Anyway, I'm betting that half the entries are guitars and the other half are random lines from Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, with a scattering of strawberry plants. ;-)

I wonder if the Ruttles songs and lyrics count here as well? [innocent look]

So, can't do my favourite Beatles song because of the lurid connotations (Norwegian Wood)nor my second favourite (I Wanna Hold Your GlHand) for the same reason.

Sigh. As I cannot model anything from clay this could be a toughie!

You don't have to be a fan. Even if you never listened to any of their music you can go to a music site and check out the song titles. You'll find something to inspire a shot within an album or two.

For example: The Rubber Soul album has the followong songs -

Drive My Car
Norwegian Wood
You Won't See Me
Nowhere Man
Think For Yourself
The Word
Michelle
What Goes On
Girl
I'm Looking Through You
In My Life
Wait
If I Needed Someone
Run For Your Life
