I keep the original packing and boxes for my electronics and camera gear too. Call it anal if you want but oh well. If I decide to sell somethig in the future I have the original box for that person (providing I didnt buy it used in which the original box may not have been shipped to me). If i have to send something in for service, whether in warranty or not, I have the original packing for it.

As for places for roaches to hide fotomann - that's what you get for living in that warm climate. lol I think it's too cold up here for those creepy critters.

Camera stuff yes (ONLY). Computer stuff and other electronics then hell no. Throw it out. You don't need it, probably never gonna use it but yes if its something that will hold its value over time such as only nintendo games.

edit to add: I have my own construction business and I don't own a 20d

I`ve got a loft full of boxes :)

I give my boxes to my kids.

They use them for creative crafts, like cutting doors & windows in them to use as houses for their stuffed animals. Or helmets, or costumes, etc. My four year old daughter had a pretty nifty housing complex going a wile back. She'd attached a bunch of boxes to make a multi-level home for some of her toys.

They also make & decorate huts for our two cats, who like to play king-of-the-hut, and battle it out through the portholes cut in the box, or have deadly cage-matches inside.

I always keep my boxes and my mom hates it. Everytime I go back to school she tries to throw all the ones I store in my closet away! It not only makes it easier to transport stuff but will (hopefully) increase resale value :)

For electronics, computer, camera, etc. I keep all the manuals, disks, and stuff that came with it in the box. Plus you never know, with expensive things like that you might have to get them fixed, in which case you can send them in the original packaging.

Only my camera and computer boxes. Everything else goes to garbage after 6 months or so.

Oh yeah. I still have the box for the scanner I bought 5 years ago. And the box is in perfect condition ;-)

I keep boxes for anything expensive, or that might need to be sent out for service.

I have the boxes for all my camera stuff, but boxes for computers, monitors and other electic appliances I throw out.

it's easy to keep a box that is less than 10"x10"x10" , but to keep several boxes that are 40"x40"x30" and some even larger... my appartement isn't big enoug ;)
