Can someone point me to some examples of 12-24mm pics - primarily in the 12-17mm range? I have lenses ranging from 18-500mm and I just want to see what I am missing by not having a 10-20mm lens or a 12-24mm lens.

Thanks,

Not really good photos, but here are several examples I took with the Nikkor 12-24DX (@ 12mm) that show the wide-angle perspective available with the lens.

Here are both ends of the spectrum - 10.5 and 22mm.

I took this recently at 17mm with a FF sensor which equals 10.5mm on a 1.6 crop factor camera (Canon 5D):

And here's my wife at 22mm with a 1.6 crop factor camera (Canon 20D)

Here are a couple of mine. Tokina 12-24. Both of these were shot at 12mm with some cropping around the edges <10%.

Wow - those are beautiful shots! I can appreciate why you are so attached to that lens.

I had just gotten my Tokina 12-24 about a week before I took this shot.

Portrait is my favorite orientation for this lens because I like to capture an image in which you can capture a scene from the ground (or water in this case) to the sky.

I have the Sigma 12-24. It's one of my favorite lenses for sure. Had it been available, I would have bought the Tokina f4, but that wasn't even announced yet when I bought the Sigma. The Sigma is the only one that will work on a full-frame camera too.

Shot with the Sigma @12mm

As was:

Needless to say, I really like my 12-24.
