		I have never learnt Photoshop properly. Whenever need arose i would simply find the tutorial for that specific issue. As a result now i am good at some specific aspects yet not familiar with many basic tools.
 Till recently i did not even know to use quick mask option. So please suggest some books and web site so that i can get my self educated on basic tools of Photoshop before i start learning more advance techniques.

 I would also love to learn retouching, recently i did some and loved it. |

		i like any book by scott kelby

 //www.amazon.com/gp/product/0321330625/qid=1147967455/sr=1-3/ref=sr_1_3/103-6167770-8217408?s=books&v=glance&n=283155

 anything this guy puts out is golden, he's one of the writers at NAPP's photoshop user magazine, which is also a great magazing w/ monthly how-tos and online video tutorials.

 hope this helps.

		You can also try The Photoshop CS2® Book for Digital Photographers by Scott Kelby. It's very good and well explained.

		| Restoration and Retouching and Masking and Compositing by Katrin Eismann are two books that shouldn't be left out of your collection. I have these two and the one mentioned above by Martin Evening. In my opinion these are the only 3 books you need. |

		Katrin Eismann's book is definitely a good one. I have some books by Dan Margulis but he's not always easy to read. One of his books called "Photoshop Lab Color" I would recommend since it's definitely something that could help an advanced retoucher looking for additional ways to deal with color corrections.

		| I can relate to your problem. Right now in my computer room I have 13 5 inch looseleaf notebooks filled with tutorials. In addition, I have 11 more notebooks on photoshop and digital photography. You may be interested in the fact that 2 of the 13 notebooks are for DPC only. |
