Crapshoot
The topic for this challenge will be posted at rollover, after all the entries are in and before voting starts.

What about leaving a small clue? That way it won't be a total crapshoot just a regular old crapshoot? :P

Best challenge idea ever. I'd totally win of course, being that my whole life is a crapshoot!

I'm not at all against it, but how is this different to a Free Study? |

Because, in theory, MOST of the entries will NOT meet the challenge, since it is posted AFTER the entries are put up for voting, and it will be a lovely litmus test of our voters.
Plus, if you actually get serious about it, the "challenge" from the photographer's point of view will be to cover as many bases as possible in a single photograph, to maximize chances of actually meeting the challenge once it is announced.
Mostly, it's just something crazy to let the DNMC people have an absolute blast :-) It's not a good challenge to enter for anyone who really cares about their average, perfect for people like me who will enter any damned thing they like :-)

Hmmm... in one way it sounds like so much fun, but some people constantly moan about every DNMC comment they get, no matter how right it might be.
I bet those people would totally flip their lid and still complain bitterly, something like: "How can you ignorant, unartistic DNMC nazis tell me I'm off topic, when none of us even knew what the topic was???"
I'm sorry to be so negative, but I'm getting so weary of this.
I love the idea, but I dread the wars that would probably start over it.
Would anybody actually DARE leave a DNMC comment? I know I wouldn't anymore.
I'm sick of being torn to strips by people who shoehorn entries, or who have some pathological need to defy authority just to prove that they CAN, then attack everyone else who is happy to go with the flow and work within guidelines.
Heck, all this is even more depressing once you put it into writing. I think I'll go cheer myself up..... shopping sounds good :-) |
