Isnt flickr just a place to look at other's pics? I thought doing that before a challenge was like a no-no or something?

nope, you just can't make your entry public (one of the reasons to make the group private - out of respect for the DPC ethics), you will find that there is quite a bit of conversation between small groups, mentors and general buddies before submission.

Well this flickr thing won't work imho, Trynity, your right and I can't see any chat feature with it either, plus I can't find you to add - am off to bed thinking skype is the thing to try.

there is a discussion area and also the 'pool' where photos can be posted (and commented upon)

you should have both recieved invites (hopefully)

wow - i've even managed to get a thread started and an image up - it's not the most intuitve of systems so please ask if you need direction (it's the kinda thing that's easy and works well once you know it)

Super nice looking logo. Here is a version with the background transparent so it will match with all color backgrounds.

nope, i need to send the invite from within the flickr system, and for some mad reason flickr does not seem to support the DPC PM system

Great idea, buzzrock. Let's keep this trend up...I will add a little something by posting one quick comment about each one.

1. Ecce - Positive: comp, idea, execution
Negative: PP is unusual and turquoise, green and gray don't go perfectly together.

2. Buzzrock - Positive: Solid photo, decent score, damn cute
Negative: Crop perhaps tad tight at bottom, show the name of camera on lens

3. TrynityRose - Positive: Color, execution, simplicity, it just feels still, background
Negative: cropped too aggressively at bottom, hot spots on letters

4. Colda - Positive: original, expression on model, lenscap placement
Negative: Too tight, soft focus doesn't work here, blown out at top

5. Marbo - Positive: color, execution, placement (cough cough)
Negative: You beat my photo, you ba$%*#*

Just some thoughts guys, because you know, we want meaningful critiques.

Ecce:

This photo deserves to be the top 10 or better for three reasons. 1)Technically sound it holds up after many viewings. 2)The means by which you achieved this photo are both preposterous and forever memorable. 3) The clarity and poignant facial expression are spot on.

Buzzrock:

Good score. The glass is utterly in focus and heat translation is obvious. The crop is sound. There is really nothing wrong with this photo. Only missing that orginal *pop*. Good finish.

BTW--

Since we have decided on that logo-- how can I paste it into my signature?

i don't know. Good idea though. I would say PM someone who has successfully put it in their signature (not necessarily from Se7endipity) and they can tell you better than I can.
