Really really bad!!

Went into town today......just happened to call into my favourite store (Harvey Norman where I've got most of my camera/computer gear from) and there on the shelf she was................on special!

I ditherbated between her and the 350 XT, but there was only $600 (nz) difference and I really like the heavier body......pffft, lets be real, I could have come up with a million excuses to follow my dream LOL

So, I'm proud to announce I'm a brand new mum to a healthy, bouncing 20D :D ......well hopefully not too bouncing, but y'all know what I mean.

Who needs food anyway!

Just curious, why did you choose a discontinued camera over the 30D?

Ditherbated, eh? Sounds serious. :)

Now change your profile!

Price mostly....difference of nearly $2000 here. This is a big step up from the 300D .....going to have a lot of fun with it.

Yes m'am :P Got all the software from the 300D on the computer, do I need to remove that before putting the new stuff on?

Don't go in Charlie.....all will be lost!!!!

Actually, the guys up here are so helpful, they sold me my first computer and saw me through all the teething problems ('heeeeeeelp, I can't turn it on' 'what do I do.....I forgot to take the reboot disc out and now it's reformatting the entire hard drive') They truely are awesome!

Congrats Sue. You'll love the 20D. I upgraded from the Rebel to the 20D a few months ago and am real happy with my decision.

Yay Sue!!!! That's fantastic news!! Although, I can't help but let the green show through a little ... been thinking about upgrading to one of those myself but just can't do it right now. So instead, I got a new lens to hold me over until I can convince the husband that I've outgrown the 300D. :-) He ain't buyin' it though.

Sooooo, I'll live vicariously through you if that's ok. :-) Can't wait to see the new photos and let me know how you like it and how easy (or not) it is to adjust to.

Congratulations again!! Couldn't happen to a sweeter person. :)

Thanks Jen :-) Had a bit of a play on my way home.....just happened to have a fully charged battery and memory card in the 300D. Controls are all very different to the 300D, that is going to take some getting used to. Don't have to think about stuff like that when using my familiar friend.

Congratulations Sue, I also am a proud owner of a 20D, I paid $1400 for it when it first came, and I tell ya it was the best $1400 I ever spent .. What are you planning on doing for lenses?

Using what I've got for now, (kit lens, 60mm f2.8, 90-300mm 4.5-5.6)plus have on order 50mm f1.8 11. Neither the kit lens or the 90-300 are the sharpest, but they'll do till I can afford more.

Off for a bit of a play.......

So what are you gonna do with your Rebel? Plan on keeping it as a back-up?
05/14/2006 12:14:19 AM · #19
Congrats Sue...

Keep your 300D as a backup, don't give in to selling it...

Cheers, Me.
