Ok the deal is that im going to buy a Cannon EOS 350D the friday after the next. There are two offers going on at the moment. I need you all to tell me which one you would buy.
Body + 18-55 lens = 1.139,75 $ (84.900kr)
Body + 18-55 lens + 55-200 lens + battery grip= 1.475,37 $ (109.900)
so tell me.. am I getting a good deal with the two lenses and battery girp?

is that 1,100 and 1,400 american dollars?
If so i'd say it's not a good deal.
get the body only for $566 with free shipping here not sure if the ship to Iceland though?
Then get the Sigma 70-300 APO DG for $200 very nice telephoto for the $$
The Canon 50mm F1.8 for $80 Great portrait lens.
Tokina 12-24 for $500 Excellent wide angle lens for those Iceland landscapes.
All for around $1,400
The Rebel battery last all day for me so unless you do a LOT of shooting between trips home or just want to make the camera bigger I'd skip that for now and get better glass. Or just get a spare battery from Sterlingtek.com for $15 and keep it in your pocket.

Aren't there some good stores in the UK? Maybe shipping would be better? I have no clue. Sorry :(

The battery grip is probably something you can live without. Canon's late models have amazingly good battery life. You could get a second battery for those long days of shooting lots of shots. Third party batteries do just as well, or better, than the Canon branded ones, and cost about half as much. I hardly ever have to use it but I feel safer with a spare in my pocket.
I had a 55-200 as my first DSLR lens, and was pleased with it's preformance. I've moved on to better glass now but am still glad that I bought it in the beginning. It has a versatile range but is not a fast aperture lens. And it is not at it's sharpest at the long end of it's zoom range; or at the wide end of it's aperture range. Like the 18-55, it is best thought of as a useful starter lens, a good value for the money but not one you will hold on to forever.
Hope this helps.
