A dozen or so shots from this morning...it was kind of late (around 9:30 am) and so they're a bit bright, but I had a good time getting out anyway. :)

I'm VERY taken by the wide angle shot from ground level of the backlit daisies, with the blue sky. I took a similar approach, low and wide, with my "something new" entry and quite liked the results. Anyway, of all the ones you've posted here that's by far the most graphically intriguing to me.

#4 is a Passion Flower...sometimes called passiflora I think. There are several varieties so I have no idea which one, but that's what the sign says anyway. ;)
Thanks for the feedback so far. I tried to get some different angles instead of just plain ol' flower shots. I know the people driving by thought I was a lunatic for lying on the ground and contorting into all sorts of shapes, but it's all in the name of art, right? ;)

Yea, it's a Passion Flower - Which turns into Passion Fruit in the Autumn. We have some in the garden. It's a vine. |

Laurie... excellent flower images all the way around. I really like what you've done with DOF and perspective.
My only suggestion would be to add a fine mist sprayer to your repertoire of camera equipment. It has been a secret of great flower photography since the dawn of time. It is amazing the amount of dimension and image interest that is added by tiny droplets of mist on flower petals in bright lighting conditions like most of yours posted here.
I'm sure some "purist" DPCers would consider this "cheating" when voting. Forget about that. The world of photography is a lot bigger than DPC challenges. Besides, you can take them both with and without mist and decide for yourself which is better. :)
Again, nice pictures.

Laurie, great work, the best ones you have shown here are #1 #4 #6 #8, the ones on your web site, are good as well, but there is one it is a reddy/pink flower with grasses in the back ground some of the grasses have highlights on them, I think it would be a stronger image if the highlights were darkened, the highlights draw the eye from the importance of the image ie the flower.

Love 'em Laurie! I never get tired of the beauty of spring flowers. It's wonderful to see them every year, and know that I've survived yet another Wisconsin winter!
