I had submitted this photo (Looking for a New Home) for the Future challenge, but pulled it and submitted Everlasting Gobstopper because it was more colorful. Gobstopper got some great comments and 20th place. How do you like Looking for a New Home in comparison?

'New Home' looks like an ad for '2001, A Space Odyssey.' I like them both, but I like your entry better.

I second that. The one you entered is better.

Well....let me be the first to say that I prefer "Searching for a New Home." My preference may be partially due to the title, which I think clearly states something that may happen in the future more than the strange science fiction rendition of a candy that already exists. Both are pretty damn good though!

I like the concept of your second "Searching..." better but the execution of "Everlasting..." is better. Got any more versions of the second?

i also like your unsubmitted photo better and think that it met the challenge more than the one you submitted. However, both are beautiful pictures and I love them both!

OK let me be clearer with my critique. The problem with your first pic is that there's this unnatural black outline that makes the planet look drawn. Second, the blur to the right is very big (significantly occupying space that makes it a third focal point). To me, it looks like a swooshy pompom physically attached to the main planet in focus. Your Everlasting composition, however, is very well done. Nothing much I'd do to change it.
