As long as this camera still works, I'd rather put my money into getting nice glass as opposed to another body. I just got the 10-22 and the 24-70L, but I would still like to complete the setup with the Canon 100mm macro and maybe the 100-400L before considering a new body. |

Been doing it annually, much to my wife's dismay. Each time I use the "this should be the last time I need to do this for awhile" line. This time, I hope it's true.

Ignoring the film days..
JamCam date ..i forget
Fuji 1400Z ...2000 sometime
Fuji S602z - Dec 03
Canon 300D - Jan 05 (13 months)
Canon 30D - April 06 (sooner if it was available) 14 months
I think I'll sit out the next gen, so might be 24-36 months this time around.

Film SLR for 15 years and counting, dSLR for almost 1 year and counting [I have had 1 P&S digital since 01-ish] :-)
I know the digital bodies will likely have a reduced life due to the speed of the upgrade cycles - not that I would upgrade for no reason but eventually (no doubt before 15 years) there will be a big gap in functionality or something specific that I really want and I will upgrade.
Funny thing is that the dSLR is similar in quantative terms as my old film SLR (number of frames, modes e.t.c.) - qualitative they are not in the same league because the newer one is sooooo much better at auto-focus e.t.c. |

Uh, baring a cross (or most anything else) might violate the site TOS (Terms of Spelling) ... : ) |
