It looks like maybe they were removed because they were outtakes. Per the new forum rules: Please do not discuss specific challenge entries or outtakes until voting has ended. Doing so can affect voting and commenting, so please save these discussions for after the end of the voting period. Please report any posts discussing these, and do not reply to them. Outtake threads posted early will be removed.
I'm surprised that no one PMed you, though. Have you checked? |

Many of us believe that out takes are not appropriate until after the challenge. There has been enough discussion about this over the last few years that this has become a forum rule. I probably reported your post yesterday. I didn't do this because I didn't like the shot or you, I did it because I am one of the people here that do not believe that out take discussions are appropriate during the voting period. Please don't take it personal. We have something greater in common... We both love to take perty pitchers! |

I'm probably mostly repeating what was said earlier, but since I'm the one who processed the post reports I figured I should respond as well.
The posting of outtakes can affect not only your scores, but the scores of other photographers as well, especially if someone has posted a shot in the challenge similar to the outtake posted. Also, some members feel that outtakes get an undue share of attention in the forms of comments and critiques. For these reasons, we've received enough requests from members to change our policies on outtakes, that when the new forum rules were put in place we made this change.
Since this is a new rule, we are running into some members who are not yet aware of it. When we do, we remove the post and email a friendly reminder.
Thanks,
Terry

For a portrait challenge, any portrait could be considered an outtake. |

Any shot related to the current challenge but not entered is an "out-take" -- it doesn't have to be from the same series or anything as your actual entry.
The problem with it as I see it is that it's like having two entries in the challenge, the actual entry, and then a second image (on the same challenge theme) in it's own thread asking for comments. The only images on the given theme which the voters should be considering are the entries; other shots on the same theme should wait until the voting period is over. |

edit: that came off mean and immature. I quit. I'd appreciate it if SC could delete this thread as well, I'd rather just forget it existed.
