I think maybe if it was cropped a bit more it would be a stronger photo. And yes, when cropped I think it would have been better than what you entered. Is there any way you could have made it larger?

this one i hadn't edited yet, i was going to crop the sides off it, i just did it this size to have an example.
but i do have a problem uploading my photos, they always say its to large then it accepts a tiny version |

Try reading this TUTORIAL
About the photo: I don't like the way you composed the shot. It's a good moment captured but the horizon just cut's the image in half. It's also a little tilted.

Read up on the rule of thirds. Ideally you would want 1/3 sky and 2/3 water......or the opposite.
It also may have been more powerful if you kept the ship center of the frame, but moved the camera to where your subjects were in the lower left or right 1/3.
Here is a quick edit:
Cropped (straightened horizon at same time)
Levels
Increased blue saturation a touch

very cool moment you've captured here. but i must agree with the horizon, i wouldve scooted waaaay right and put the ship totally perpendicular to my lens and the two foreground subjects on the left of frame. maybe let the top of the bridge direct where the top of the pic should end. did you use a pola? |
