I'd like to thank everyone who left me comments on my clockwork orange photo in the movie challenge. I had a lot of fun making it. I have a few outtakes that I was debating over so I figured I'd get some opinions on them.
First of all, I obviously took a big risk submitting a stereogram. I'm sure this hurt my score from those who couldn't see it in 3d. I tried to compose the shots in a way that they would be appealing to the eye as two images. I was mainly going for the stereogram idea, but I did come up with this one plain shot that I thought worked pretty well. It has a lot of dust and scratches but I liked the effect:
I had two other stereograms which I will share here. Please let me know if you enjoy these. The first one I thought was nice and some people I shared them with preferred to my submission because it showed the whole face. I kind of preferred the composition with the focus more on the eye. The second one is my Warhol Stereogram. The increased colors, (i found the oranges appropriate), gave it a very interesting look as flat art even before it was 3d. I liked the effect a lot but I'm fairly certain it would have scored poorly.
Thanks for looking! |

I think the one you entered is the best. Maybe people didnt get it...or didnt like the movie...or didnt know the movie. Your shot was excellent. Actually, I could not see it in 3D...but it didnt change my feelings about the picture being amazing. The girls at my work really like your photo as well! |

Thanks grigrigirl. I was honored to have a ribbon winner add my shot to their favorites! Seriously, I love your work, it's consistently awesome. It's good to know that some of my efforts are appreciated too. I'm surprised, amazed, and glad, that you actually didn't see it in 3d. I was hoping that the image worked enough by itself without the gimmick and I guess it did. Of course, if you like it that much you really should try to get it as it is that much cooler when you do. Thanks again! Glad I seem to have made a good choice with choosing my submission.

ive never been very capable at the three d illusion pictures. I can, however, look at my two index fingers positioned at the tips of each other...and create the illusion of a third floating finger! But i think thats my optical limit. :) I will try again though. Do i cross my eyes or merely soft focus them on the image? |

Cross your eyes until the images overlap. Try to focus on something easy like the shape of the glass of milk. |

bump.
Anyone other than the one person who I already know liked it care to give me some feedback on what I should have submitted? |

ack, i just cannot make up my mind between the submitted one and the other B&W stereogram. i have stared at both of them for ten minutes and simple cannot decide. they both have their own merits composition-wise and lighting and tone-wise they are both fabulous.
big help i am, huh? :)
p.s. i like the composition of the plain shot a lot, but it doesnt do as near as much for me, probably because the first thing that comes to mind when i think of alex is that eye--and it isnt prevalent enough in this shot. the warhol one is very cool, but just doesnt grab me like the B&W's do.
