While I understand you are new to the site and to photography, I suggest you peruse other peoples works and, if you feel inclined, comment on them. If you find a picture you like, and you want more information, send them a private message (found on their profile page) and ask them about how they took the picture. The majority of people on this website would be more than willing to answer your questions.
Also check out these tutorials
They cover all sorts of stuff from post processing to technical aspects like depth of focus
Please don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to discourage you from asking for comments, but I just want to point out some other ways to benefit from this site
