Works for me. Although I'm sure you'll still win, haha. I'm going to give this one my best go, I'm expecting a 5.5 or less. We'll see, best of luck to you guys (although I know you don't need it :))

You guys aren't really good with your iron-clad rule exceptions. Just add a rule stating any photo shot by Larus or any member of the Magnificent 7 immediately gets a full 2 point deduction. Force those guys to maintain a 7 or 8+ average! :P

Team Pentax.. you make me weep with joy.
I'm so proud to be an owner of one of the least respected cameras out there, but one of the strongest performers :)
I'll go cry now. |

Hehehehe...you crack me up Artyste.
It's interesting though that when looking at the list of results by a particular camera that all three Pentax dslr's are in the top 50 and are all ranked higher than popular models like the Canon 20D and Nikon D70. Quite an achievement.

Wow the Canon 20D is pretty far down the list. So it must be the camera screwing up and not me. :P

Larus, since we're not up against you (if I'm following this all correctly), please feel free to use a good looking Icelandic male for your portrait. Blond or brunette will be fine. Thanks.

Oh, thanks for the help. See what we do when you get to go up against them. It'll probably be a challenge like Icy Landscape or something. Then you'll know how it feels. :) Great job last week though.

No direct harm intended - I just kinda like looking at good looking Icelandic (or any other nationality, for that matter) men for a change. I mean, beautiful women are good and all that, but I get a bit tired of them after awhile.
Seriously, though, I feel for you guys. One heckuva challenge to have to go up against that team in! And I did nothing to help my team last week except have entries in so we wouldn't have to forfeit should it come to that. Hopefully I have one that will count toward the average this week, though! (Granted, "doing well" for me may not be all that helpful, but I am giving it a good try!)

Can't believe the *ist-DL is in the top 10, just behind cameras like the EOS-1D MkII and EOS-5D...Cameras that are worth 5 times the dollars!
The camera doesn't make a bit of difference. All of them can record what you are seeing. But, you have to SEE - Ernst Haas

Heck of a family affair you guys have going on the Pentax *ist DL page. :-)
I tend to think that while decent glass does help, talent helps much, much more. |

No problem Richard. Were are team and that's what counts. I feel confident that we can pull a good average out this week.
It's all about fun and how a little competition can make people step things up a little. If you look back at last weeks averages, most scored higher personally than their beginning average. I think this competition is a good learning tool. At least I hope so. :)

55 of the 84 photographers scored above their average this week. That is 65.5% Overall. If you don't count the people that did not participate then 55 of 80, 68.8% of the participating photographers scored above their beginning average.

I am well above my average when we started this. 5.2400 and getting 6+ consistantly in the challenege so maybe their is something to it all.

Looks like Team Outcasts improved by .635 after week 1 although I'm not helping matters in week 2. :(
P.S. that doesn't count skiprow who didn't have an entry in week 1. Lets go Skip. You and Bear are our 3-4 hitters in the lineup!

Ummm, Team Outcast members - I think according to the nifty website that we're up against Team Nikon this week. And I think, also according to Scott's nifty website, that Team Nikon has Librodo, and that the Textures challenge is included in Week 2 scores.
So what say we really work on kicking butt in Week 3?? :-)
I do have a good score in Chrome. So maybe we won't be TOO embarassed. (Heh.) I don't have an entry for tonight's Member challenge, but will get something in for the Open challenge by Tuesday.

Why does Team Nikon have a red in their score? |
