I'm going to get a booth at a local "farmers market" to sell some of my work but I have no idea how much to charge for my prints. Is there like a standard that shots go for by size or does it pretty much depend on the shot? Obviously they will be framed and I still have to find a good place to get my frames. But I was thinking something like $15-$25 for 5x7s, $35-$50 for 8x10s, and $75-??? for larger prints. Is this reasonable? If not please offer better suggestions. Thanks.

On average, my framed prints sell for these figures (but do vary):

5x7 print framed: $120
8x10 print framed: $150
11x14 print framed: $200
12x18 print framed: $250
16x20/24 print framed: $350

When I come up with a price for a framed print, I have some numbers to consider.

1. How much do I sell that print for as just a print?

2. Add that to my actual cost of custom framing (i get 30% off)

3. I add that 30% discount back to my selling price

4. I add in an additional 30% (most of the time) to cover any commission i may be having to pay.

It's not that awesome. A lot of that price is in the frame.

Yeah? I really haven't priced frames or getting prints framed.

Framing varies in cost. I choose to stay away from the simpler mat/frame combos from places like AC Moore and Michaels. The standard frames don't hold my photos the way I like to see them. When I mat a photo, I like to have my mat width equal on the top and both sides, with a thicker bottom... usually 1/4" or 1/2" thicker, with up to 1" thicker on larger prints. When you do this, the standard frames no longer fit. You can do an 8x10 print in an 11x14 frame this way, but you have to have the mat custom cut for it.

When you go to a custom frame shop, you get some things you won't find in the cheaper frames. You can get acid free mat boards and backing, as well as UV filtering glass in various varieties. You also get a proper dust cover on the back of the frame, as long as you aren't buying a metal frame. The acid free materials, UV filtering glass, and dust cover help ensure longevity for your print.
