buydig is offering rebel xt for 574 after rebate
20D is 1,079

Is there that much difference in the two?? I currently have a rebel 300D and am happy with it.

Which should I buy. I hate to be disapointed later, but I hate to spend the extra money. Realllly hate to spend it. Like, really don't have it to spend.

Why would you consider either of these if your happy with your current body ?

Put the money towards a new lens instead.

My rebel's shutter broke, so I have to get another one. I need a backup anyways, so once the rebel is fixed I will just have two.

My Rebel's shutter broke the same way your's did. Half black frames but I got lucky it happened 2 weeks before the 1 year warranty ran out. I sent in off for $10 USD, bought the 20D for the higher frame rate. I kept the Rebel for a backup body. Of course when I bought the 20D the 350XT wasn't out yet and I wasn't going to invest in another body that would only give me 20K shots.
