anyone tried this new freeware image editor? looks like a very nice interface and looks rather "serious", might be a contender of sorts with GIMP?

I think it's simpler to use than GIMP but GIMP is more powerful.

I use GIMP too :)
But I really think that GIMP's dodge & burn function is horrible.
For one, the brushes are limited, also restricted to the preset sizes.

Cool! An image editor written in .NET.

Anyone used it yet? What's the speed like?

I haven't had any problem with speed, but I've only used it for basic editing.
