You have 45 calendar days from the date you made payment to dispute it, so no need to rush into anything just yet. Personally I think a week from DrAchoo's email is a reasonable amount of time to give Brent to reply.

If I were entered and disputing this, I would try to contact him personally before disputing. If I did not receive a reply, my dispute reason would be something along the lines of, "Paid $20 as an entry fee for a photography tournament. Recipient then canceled his membership at the site where the tournament is being run, and I have been unable to contact him since. Requested resolution is a refund of payment."

Apparently Brent emailed me 30 minutes after my email to him, but my server dropped it (I've had this happen before). He sent me another and we are in communication.

I did hear a mariachi band and tequila glasses clinking in the background...

Glad to hear it! To be honest, I was quite surprised that you had not heard from him. A server glitch would certainly explain it.

OK, all is well. Brent is happy to follow along on the sidelines. He said he'd even be willing to keep the bracket page up to date. he's happy to pay out the winners at the end.

Of course we all knew this was going to be the case. Thanks for not panicking.

BTW, Brent said that he still has to pick up RANDOD300's money from Western Union and Qart hasn't sent his yet.

So with this behind us, it's gonna be on to round two in a little more than 24 hours!!! Who's dreams will survive? Who's hopes will be dashed? Who will have to have an entry for the friggin Jump challenge (you all had better have entered unless your score is 4.5)?

I don't think I like you anymore.

...and that's 4.7019, thank you very much.

Just to keep you updated... payment was sent early in the week by priority post which apparently takes 5 business days... should be there Monday or so... :)

Score should be high enough to advance... if it weren't for a certain someone who shall remain nameless...
How are you today Sir Bazz... :)

Heeheehee....

Morning Qart..it was unfortunate that the draw worked out the way it did. I'm sure both of our scores will be in the top 4 or 5 out of the death league participants.

Okidoqui. Got a jump, so I'm safe (and possibly sorry)

:)

Hey Bazz, I think I spotted your yellow entry. I left a comment. Did I hit it?

You have a very sharp eye for details doc.

Now go back and gimme a 10 and a nicer comment ;)

Man, I'm channeling the spirit of Rikki! Usually he's the one who can spot people's shots, but I've picked both you and Brent out in a single try with nothing to tip me off in particular.

I gave you an 8...nice shot. ;)

Yeah the spirit of Rikki scored another 6th place. Yikes. I seem to have an affinity for 6th place ;)

Aw, that's a bear. But I can say I'm a bit relieved. I'm already a ribbon behind (but 3 honorary mentions ahead). I'm guessing I'll be 2 ribbons behind before the week is through. I can't let you get too far ahead...

So Best of 2002 has a few shots fired across the bow...

Rikki with 6th (7.01)
Bear Music with 17th (6.58)
mattmac with 154th (5.10)

The rest of us I guess weren't old enough (*cough*Robert*cough*) to be shooting quality shots in 2002...

OK...I'm in for Jump and in the running for my first brown.

I got a big fat nothing for Jump so far.
Don't REALLY want to shoot it if I don't have to.

Hi ho, am back from my jaunts. shanksware I'm just about making 5.1 so your safe ;) and my jump shot (if I submit) would be around the same. I'll make myself feel better by going through some holiday snaps.

So, Andi, how was your vacation? Did you have a good time and get to make many, many pictures?

Safe is not the way I would describe it. I've got a real nice 5.1 shot for jump so far.

1 1/2 hours to rollover. Who's in jump?

I'm locked and loaded for what it's worth.
Am I going to face Rikki or Little King?
04/09/2006 10:42:58 PM · #122
There's a lot more entries for "Jump" than I thought there would be. I thought you all would just give up.

Still time to not enter, you know :)

I'm gunna have to say Rikki. I'm mid 5's... that aint Rikki's style.

I hope I lose actaully. I don't have a jump shot. Better to lose fair than by non-competition

I was going to say this sound like the Brent I did meet in person. He's super nice, understanding, patient and even let me hug him at the end of the day, LOL. He was very shocked when I did but he didn't protest, too much.

Sorry to see him go though, he's got a lot to offer.
