right.. pick the most expensive city in the world for the GTG ;)

I've been to Oslo and it's a nice place, but in Norway I prefer the towns on the west coast, the fjords and those tight little places :)

well true... just thought i would be self centered and sudjest where i am living.. a much better chance that I would make it to the gtg ya know. Yes, west coast is a LOT more scenic in my opinion.
However iceland isn't that cheap to get to for all europeans.. anywhere in europe is cheap to get to (on ryan air it costs next to nothing) but iceland isn't part of those cheapo deals.

we have at least 3 budget airlines flying to Iceland at the moment, Iceland Express is the cheapest and they have great deals on their flights, down to 45 NKr + taxes one way, so you could get to Iceland and back from one of their locations in Europe for about 1000Nkr

it's just pays to think ahead and by the ticket when they have a good deal going..

I buy tickets there a few times each year, to london mostly, and I don't take all the trips, sometimes I give the tickets to a familymember and sometimes I sell them to my friends, but it's cheap to buy them and they can be booked months in advance :)

word. i've only been in boston a month and still have barely scratched the surface...it's awesome. NY would be awesome too...and it's only 3 hours away, but i'm pretty fond of the architecture and coastline here. we drove up to marblehead last weekend and hope to make it to salem this weekend, i can't wait to see that place. i just know it's going to be haunted. :)i vote east coast.

I am late to this party too, but would love to attend a world-wid DPC GTG. I am open to where, but would prefer an overseas location. The 1-2 year lead time works for me as I will need some time to save money. Please keep this thread active, I am anxiously watching it!

And when are y'all coming down to Cape Cod? The welcome mat is out, and Karma needs new friends...

oh. somehow i missed the 1-2 year time frame...if that's the case then i would rather do overseas as well, why not? that's more than ample time to plan. anywhere in europe: italy, greece, scotland, germany, austria, iceland...sheesh, where not?

well, today was supposed to be the salem drive, but the weather is crappy, as you know. (unless it snows, then the weather is awesome!) so that will be tomorrow.

but we have plenty of time...and we would love to come visit! we were planning a trip down there soon anyway, and we would love to meet up with you. :) i'll pm you...

Bump.

So, did this happen? Seems it's been about 2.5 years since the last post...

SUPER BUMP! This has been a while and I wanted to see if it happened or are we still in dreamland?

That would be amazing. I read the first post and lot of ideas came to my head.

There's the GTG in NYC in June!

What a fantastic idea! I suggest it should be held in the U.S since most of the DPC population resides there.
