How do I turn the Bridge RAW Autocorrect off (Mac)? It drives me crazy. I want the thumbnail to display as-shot. Every time I reset it, it auto-corrects again. Am I missing something?
Forgive me if this has been answered before. I searched and didn't find anything.

Yup, that should do it. It will also mean that you'll need to manually set all the sliders all the time though, so be sure that's the behavior you want. I'm not aware o fwhether it's possible to turn off the autocorrect on the thumbs without disabling the auto-settings on the sliders.

For convenience, here's the steps for CS2:
1. In Bridge, open a raw format image. The camera raw dialog appears in Photoshop.
2. Choose "Camera Raw Defaults" from the Settings drop-down list.
3. Type Command-U in Mac or Ctrl-U in Windows to turn off all auto settings.
4. Click the arrow beside the Settings drop down list and select "Save New Camera Raw Defaults" from the pop-up menu.
5. Repeat with a raw image from any other camera you use (settings are camera specific).

You can just save two sets of parameters. One set, with everything at their default values (i.e., no auto correct) and set that as the default. This then shows your thumbs 'as shot' which is a good way to learn how bad or not you are at exposure, white balance etc.
Have one set of 'all auto' saved that you can just apply from the drop down. Best of both worlds if you need or want the automatic fixes. |
