...all those 10s and 9s, I gotta ask - what on earth are you thinking?
This is not a great image, it was not completely in focus (my toes wiggled), the lighting was not great and many thought it DNMC...and my feet are ugly, and the image relied heavily on the title.
I will never understand how you can live with yourselves - doling out high scores so recklessly. Don't you know a mediocre image when you see one?
I think I'm done with Challenges... there are just too many "fairy's*" who vote with their own agenda without evening LOOKING at the image.
How dare you! AND THEN, if giving this a 10 is not enough, they even write COMMENTS!! The nerve...
I would like to thank those REAL voters who gave me the 1s, 2s and 3s (37) and left NO comments, to balance out all those ridiculous 8s, 9s, and 10s (34).
* "fairy" - opposite of "Troll".

This has to be one of the most bass-ackwards rants I've ever seen... LOL.

Alas! Another victim of DPC fantasy voters, the trolls, fairies, ogres, princesses, and knights on white horses, all overwhelmed by the vagueries of chance. Welcome to the inscrutable real world! |

Sometimes beauty lies in the imperfections that plague us all, great shot! |

Looking back, I gave it a 4. I did notice the out-of-focus toes, but it was still an interesting capture. I think that the lighting is nice, but I didn't really like the composition with everything centered. I like the idea, but didn;t really think that it fit the challenge. But then again, what the hell do I know. I just finished inside the top 40. Don't give up on challenges. Its always fun to see haw f-ed up the voting is, don't you think?

I wish some of those fairies come visit my Hands entry but I think they shy away from dark images. :( |

Thanks, man.
That original post was all tongue-in-cheek....totally sarcastic.
:-)
I was just poking a little fun at so many threads we see about people complaing of 1s and 2s...that's all.
:-)
Thanks for voting for my image though...! |

Yeah, I should've strung it out - but I kinda felt badly there for a second that ericwoo thought I was serious.
Ya see, I'm just a big sensitive lug.
Not sensitive enough to wear pink panties, though... |

Matt,
I thought your post was great! I understood your sarcasm immediately. People should not get so upset about 1s and 2s--all they mean is that there is someone who sees things differently than you do.
Comments from someone who gives a 1 to an image are rarely helpful. It usually means that they have a different aesthetic sense (or a different understanding of the topic of the challenge). The most helpful comments come from people who give you midrange votes. They appreciate what you were trying to do and can give good suggestions about what would make the image more successful for them.
