I'm going to be in Seattle all next week for a DEX Leadership training. We are going to have some free time while I'm there and I'm wondering of different places that are a must to go shoot. I am going to be at Seattle University for the training. As far as I know, I am going to be going to the Space Needle on day, lunch at Pike's Market, and then a 4 hour cruise on Elliott Bay for dinner and sunset. Anywhere else that I must go while I'm there? |

do you have time for the woodland park zoo? They have a gorgeous facility andn a beautiful butterfly exhibit where you can really go to town with bug macros!

I didn't even think of a zoo. I hope that I have time for that. The zoo is one of my favorite places to go take pictures, hence my Zebra shot :) |

take a drive out to picturesque Alki Beach, and also a drive out to Snoqualmie Falls.
Go up to the top of the highest hill in Seattle and have lunch.
Take a boat out in Puget Sound or Lake Washington.

Hey, thanks for the great ideas mag. How far off the Snoqualmie falls exit is the falls??? We might stop by there on the drive home, but if it's to far in we might not have time. We are going to go on a cruise around Pugent Sound tomorrow night and last night I was out at Alki Beach.
(Edit)- And tonight I'm going to the Center Place and to the top of the Space Needle.
and tomorrow we're having a scavenger hunt around Pike's Market.

I was at Pike Place this afternoon and it was CROWDed for a Wednesday. If you like sausage/bratwurst/kielbalsa you MUST stop at Uli's. Be sure to see the flying fish (I got wonderful fresh chinook there that I'm grilling for dinner tonight). The very first Starbucks in right there on Pike street.
The falls are not at all far from the exit, worth the minor detour. We've had the best summer weather I can remember and I'm a native so Enjoy!
Riding the duck is a pretty fun touristy thing. You board near Seattle Center. If you don't mind feeling like a tourist I recommend it.
