For a while now my photos on DPC have looked off. I could never put my finger on it however. I read a thread recently ( //www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=34797 ) that I passed over but filed in the back of my brain - it didn't have to travel very far to get to the back, however. When I made my In the Garden submission, the image was muddy and dull. Mavrik pointed me back to the thread I remembered and I put all my color spaces to sRGB and the effect is dramatic.
Here is my Contrasts entry which is Adobe RGB
//www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=29754
and a version set to sRGB
//www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=31221
I think the difference is rather dramatic. The Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! part is that I read something somewhere else and had converted from sRGB to Adobe RGB a couple of months ago and everything since that time has been subpar.
Thanks to all for the good advice. I feel so much better about my In the Garden entry now.
Dennis

Definately a difference there. Thanks for bringing this up so that others might be able to take advantage of it as well. ~Heather~ |

yeah, thanks. I am sure people (myself included) will benefit from this, although thanks to Mav. in the first place. Oh, so you know, I gave that shot an 8 and thought it was one of the best ones of the challenge. Excellent work. |

Makes me want to go to Phoenix and kick the crap out of someone. If people don't want their kids, why not give them to someone who will take care of them. Stuff like this makes me crazy!
