Inspired by Sher's amazing shot "The Girl with a Pearl Earring"



I wouldn't mind a challenge (advanced please) where one depicts one of the classic paintings of the past. There are thousands of paintings out which could be photographically recreated.

I like the idea. I can already imagine ShutterPug's shot... *cough* pugs playing poker *cough*

vermeer is not my fav painter, but he is good painter.

I can see in this type of challenge, we will have lot of nudes. Which is good thing though, from guys perspective :-))

I personally like the original model better. Not sure it is a good concept to copy a painting. In my opinion, Painting and Photography are light-years apart.

Lots of Georgia O'Keefe, too.

I love the idea. In fact, I made the same suggestion a few months ago. But why limit it to paintings? How about live action sculpture?

I liked the way Scarlett Johanson did the girl with the pearl earring, cool film.

I think this would be a good challenge.

I personally liked Scarlett Johanson better than the original model. Call me crazy. ;)

Yes its going to be very good challenge. The only problem for people like me is to find the models to pose. Painting is my first love and i would be sad to miss any such challenge.
