I thought some of you may enjoy this image.
This Panorama was taken at 6-03am. Combining 11 handheld images, manually stitched in CS2. I used the AE lock to hold the same exposure settings and converted them from RAW.
Details as follows -
- 11 images
- JPEG size 49.067mb
- Pixel Dimension 25,050 x 2,596
- Size 4.24meters(14 feet) x .44meters(1.5 feet)
- Total Pixels 65,029,800
- ISO 400
- Aperture 7.1
- Shutter 1/60
Obviously I have reduced it right down for the web...but the large one will probably be printed and I can say that it shows incredible details.

It is hard to tell how good your image is because the uploaded version is so small and thin. But it looks like you were holding your camera landscape instead of portrait and pictures taken handheld and that is why it is skinny.
I've toyed with the idea of taking portrait oriented panoramas where there are TWO horizontal passes and putting those together. That way you can get a normal aspected image for a 8 X 4 foot sized print of incredible detail and quality.
Here are a couple test panoramas I did with the camera oriented portrait, mounted on a tripod and combined in CS2 like yours. But they are only single pass ones so are still thin.

Thanks so much for your help. I was meant to do them portrait but at that hour of the morning (especially after an hours drive to get there) my mind was still in sleep mode. It wasn't until later that I kicked myself...so had to work with what I had.
Oh well...next time.
BTW...love that bottom panorama of yours...beautiful. |
