Someone please tell me how to resize a photo to the proper size for challenges. 640 pixels at 350 dpi? I did that and the photo is extremely small. I dont get it. HELP! |

Make it 640 pixel at 72 dpi for proper display, although it will probably do that automatically when you upload and view in a browser. This setting only affects the display in the editing program and if you print it. |

Once you've resized it to 640 pixels, for DPC, click "z", (for "zoom"), and then highlight "actual pixels" on the options bar above (just below the menu bar). The image will be the correct size again, and will be smooth. |

Forget about dpi. It's meaningless unless you're actually printing the image. It simply has no effect whatsoever on xcreen display.
Resize to 640px on the longest side and save for web. Done.

This is the DPC tutorial. If you follow these steps in photoshop, your photographs will be resized OK.
One important thing to remember - always save your original file as it came from the camera. When you "save for the web" give the file a different name from the original.
