Well, we've had a very mild winter so far. Even hit the + double digits last weekend.

This morning's temperature and wind chill...

-27C wind makes it feel like -40C (-40F)

It's going up to a balmy -22C today with windchills around the -30C mark.

We got up to 93 on Tuesday, then this morning it was 38 at 4am which is cold for here and I had to turn on the seat heater (I call them "bun warmers") in the car on my way in to work.

I'm headed out that way tomorrow... Should be a bit of a shock, though at least I get to put my 650 fill power down jacket to good use.

Yup, I'm pretty sure I would move. I'm not a fan of anything under 32F...

I can't wait for the cold, ice fishing has been so bad since there has been no ice.... Not to mention XC skiing, snowshoeing and sledding.

Here in the high desert country of New Mexico the temperatures are mild but the persistant winds, 30-40 mph, make outdoor activity unpleasant. Blowing sand and dust keeps me from taking a camera outdoors. Late winter and spring is always like this in the southwest.

By the lake, a hundred miles east of Vancouver BC: temperatures hovering around 0 C in the daytime, wind chill -13. Clear skies, snow geese in the fields next to mine, three trumpeters crossing overhead this morning, crisp-white against the snow cap, then a single bald eagle drifting on the wind.

Clear night skies, coyote howls...

Got up early to break up the ice on the water troughs for the horses with a hammer.
