I am going to sit in front of a store in a few weeks to advertise my business and was wondering if I could get some help picking out pictures that you think would look good in my portfolio, so people can see my previous work.

Click any name under the clients name and and let me know which one you would find appropraite in My Portfolia . Or you can also show me something that I submitted and won ribbons on.

Thanks
Soni

I know this is a pain in the butt..I reassure you I am not wanting you to just look at my pictures. I want to start this business and need help. I don't know what is the best because I like the emotive stuff and usually the ones I like the parents don't pick.

I also have a ton more stuff here.. Soni's Pbase.

What kind of store? Maybe themed to go with it.

Hope this helps,

hmmm.. guess I suck.

What a community..let's all worry about what pictures aren't supposed to be in a challenge rather than help someone out. I am very disappointed in the dpc community. So I ask myself..why am I even here..I get more comments on my blog than I do here. Maybe I should go there to ask.

People here are usually quite generous...
I think you've been a bit ambitious.
I put aside quite a bit of time to look at all the photos, I think you need to narrow it down, put it in one folder, then ask for advice.

ok thanks bobster..doing that now.

Sorry Soni, I asked a question and then forgot to check back. If, like Bobster said, you can narrow it down some (35+ folders is a lot to look througth!), I will come back and give my opinion. PM me if I forget. :)

Hey Soni - I started to look through and then it was just so many pix...

If you narrow it down a bit, I'd be glad to check again.

Ok..went through all of my portraits and got a folder set up for you all to look. Hope this makes it easier. Portfolio

I'm sort of weird in my tastes, but these kind of stood out for me:

B27, B11, B23, spid3E, chandport2, jan14, stylin, nat2RE, sep8, and feb22.

You know Soni...I would say I like a lot of them..too many to list.

You should make sheets where many are wallet sized and pick a few mentioned here for bigger prints. You never know. The ones you leave out might just be the one somebody likes the most :-D

Soni,

I like the following:

Kids' portraits
b27re
staci19re - great shot
ash1namecp
1xmaslilasinre - great
angellilare - Outstanding

Couples & Families
My Kids and I
c27re

Weddings
jan14
vicsub3

You might want to consider emphasizing one style over the others. I don't know that but in my recent interactions with other local photographers they don't seem to take people seriously who "play the field". May not matter to you but I can tell you that they are serious about referral business and given the high quality of your child portraits I would think you could develop some good ties with other photogs in your area and trade referrals with them when you are already booked for an event. Again, its just a thought but regardless I would think that your work should get you some good opportunities to close the deal with some new customers. Remember your previous clients (whether they were paying or not). Solicit referrals from them, too. They're your absolute best marketing tool. When they tell someone about the good experiences they've had with you and they tell them how much your pictures & service meant to them in a sincere manner its worth more than anything you could spend on marketing or rental space.

Great work and good luck.

Kev

Hey Soni, I could see how you would have a hard time narrowing down these photos. :-) Here's a list of a few that I think might do well, although most of them would in my opinion. But that doesn't really help you any. :-)

T2re, B23re, B27re, Staci19re, Lilamaes xmas photo, 85938, kat12cp, c29re, jan14, ashlnamecp

Edit to add: "Good Luck" :-)
