I entered this in the Shadow challenge:
But really wanted to enter this:
I think its a much more interesting shot and better composed all around, but... I was worried about annonimity issues.... so switched it last minute.
Right choice?
How did you choose your entry? Did you worry about keeping it annonymous? |

You made the right choice for this challenge. The second is a nice photo, but the first implies more of a conflict with the shadow...
Remember the shadow was supposed to be the subject. So, al in all you made the right choice. BTW, I liked your submission very much.

I like the second shot best, but with that smile, no one would have seen the shadow...

Some people use lack of anonymity to their advantage and it seems to be accepted - but probably depends on who you are - it probably works against me ;-)
Both your shots are good - the first one seems more suited to the challenge, but you'll never know if the second one would've done better. But THANKS for sharing it with us. :D |

I like the 2nd shot a lot more but I don't think it would've scored as well in the shadow challenge as your entry.
Your face and upper chest region are by far the strongest elements and relegate the shadow to be not worthy of a 2nd glance.
Just my thoughts
