Going through and re-editing some old shots and some not so old shots. So I thought I would upload some to share. ;o)
All shot with the Pentax 67 on either velvia or provia.

Don't know why you would ever want to shoot digital... It seems like such a waste of good film.
Love your stuff, Brent, I really do. You and I butt heads on a few things , but you've got some awesome shots in your port. Medium format just kicks tail, I'm telling you. Especially when done by a pro.
We would like to see some digital stuff, though :) |

If I'm not at the top of that list I'll butt heads with whoever is.
Those shots are pretty Brent. Pretty saturated, look pretty heavily manipulated.
Got any digital photographs to share with us? ;)

Most are hardly manipulated at all. The city shots have the color and saturation due to the very long exposures.
Redwoods and above treeline have the most post-processing done to them.
Digital? What is that? :D

A more correct way for me to say it would be "You and I may disagree on a lot of things..." (and I think we do, but I think we do it respectfully.) |

The saturation is also caused by the nature of velvia and provia and the fact that it's low ISO (50, right Brent?) at reciprocity corrected exposures. (That means they are REALLY long exposures, as Brent notes). This capability of film to generate a WOW! is still a weakness in digital. There's a natural "smoothness" to film that has to be artificially generated with digital, and a computer still can't simulate the analog nature of film and light totally accurately. It's not a matter of "quality" or megapixel count; transistors simply do NOT react to light the same way film does. Velvia reacts entirely differently to blues than it does to red. It's not something the photographer controls; it's just inherent in the film. I don't know how to explain it, but it's there. I knew most of Brent's stuff was done on film well before he "published" that fact; for some reason it's just obvious to me.
These are probably some of the least processed shots you'll ever see on DPC, and they are being done on EXTREMELY good equipment, it's obvious.
Ya can't hide money :) |

Dear D&L, I'd like a "bulk favorite" option please!
Brent, absolutely STUNNING work! I feel like such a snapshot artist after looking at these. Sheesh.
Hey, does this mean the scanner is fixed and I won't have to wait much longer for outing pics? hehe :-)

Scanners still broke and at Nikon. ;-(
When I sleeve the chromes, I'll shoot a shot of them on the light table for ya with the 1d.
