This started out to be just a random shot for my PAD project, and then I went a little crazy with the post-processing, and then someone said it was a little MC Escher-esque, and then I got excited for the Tribute challenge, and then I realized the editing was sooooo illegal, and then I learned how to write sentences that don't run-on, and then I decided to make this a longish sentence anyway.
So, whaddya think? Surreal? Or just freaky?
Input appreciated.

dude that is just freaky.
Input: Freaky.
But it is intriguing, in a weird I don't want to look at this too long kind of way.

It's very cool. I like everything about it except perhaps the texture. That would be ok, but it does seem to posterize in places, and it also draws more attention to the background.
It would be interesting to see it moved more towards a B&W painterly, escheresque photo.
I also like your long run on sentence ;)

Oooh - good suggestion. Something more like this, then?
Anybody, feel free to play with My Left Foot. Let's see what you got! |

I like this one--but one more suggestion: crop off the bottom part to make it square. That adds to the illusion, foot, hand, what the heck is it, and stays to the middle tones better as well.
Only other thing to try is different painterly effects. This one still looks a bit scale-ish! If you post a non-effect one, I'll try some for you.

Looks like something Salvadore Dali would have conjured up, he was weird! He'd have managed to get a sexual connotation to it though.
Interesting shot nontheless. |

Here's a quick attempt. I tried to change the character a bit by adding grain to a copy of the layer and then multiplying. I could not get a good drawing look on this version. BTW - I think it might be cropped at the bottom further still; I tried one and I liked it, but it was getting too small due to starting at 640.
