I'd just assumed that the giraffe had traumatised you.

That tongue does freek me out a little...

And let me add that I have repeatedly said I keep "open house" for DPCers here on Cape Cod, and even have a spare room. One couple from here in the last year has taken me up on it, so I suspect I'm not a very-desired "mentor" anyway :-) But the offer's still open. Want to pick my brain? Bring food...

Um Robert...do you have room for six kids and a wife?

Depends how big the kids are and how many air mattresses you bring...

As an accomplished photographer, I would like to take Bear Music under my wing...and teach him the ways of photography -- Nikon style.

Been there, done that; this is my first-ever Canon after a career of Nikons...

I think I'd like to shoot with Kylie, mostly just to encourage her and boost her confidence.

Oh, incase anyone didn't catch that, I was joking.

Well, I've thought about this a lot. I suspect there will not be many replies, basically because it's a LOT less comfortable to tell people you're "better" than they are than it is to tell them you look up to them. There are a LOT of talented folks in DPC ready to take that "next step". I'd actually be willing to "work" with about any of them that felt I could be of value to them.

However, there's ONE person who comes to mind to whom I can comfortably say "I'd love to take you under my wing for a weekend!", and that's Rikki. He's a talented young man who I happen to know is an architect, and I earned my living shooting architecture for a quarter century, so I have a lot of experience and tricks I could pass on there.

Wow! I just saw this message from Bear ;) I guess it had gotten buried with all the other replies. I am humbled my friend and I would love to have this opportunity as I love taking architecture photos ;)

All I need is a little corner at your house... maybe even the backyard so I can camp out. Kinda like how Frank Lloyd Wright did to his "apprentices".

Me Padawan. You Master Jedi ;)

Thanks again.

That's OK, I got a room for ya. "Architecture" is sort of limited on the Cape though; there's essentially no modern architecture of any value except some houses that can't be seen from public land. It's a good place for 300-year-old houses, though :-)

A much better plan is for you to fly me out to where you are. Yeah, that works for me :-)
