Looking back, I should have posted any of these for the best of 2005 challenge. My personal favorite is Defiance.

I agree, "Defiance" is the best of the three, and I think would have done well in "Best of '05."

Personally, I vote for breakdance just because it's so unusual. Usually in more sporty shots you never have the subject looking at the camera, and in portraits you don't have the subject moving. This is sort of a blend of the two, it daring, and it breaks the mould from the rest of your great work.

Many thanks. I will post more pictures later especially the ones I took from the Philippines last month.

Ah yeah...my favorites too.

BTW, I had a gallery at pbase entitled, My Best Shots 2005. Technically, not really the whole of 2005 because I only included from June to Decemeber of 2005 shots. Don't worry. My Best of 2005 entry is not there. Here's the link.

Thanks again.

Manny, I could close my eyes and pick one of your photos from your portfolio and it would have done good in the best of. I like them all but the one you chose is the best.=)in my humble opinion.

Manny, your work is superb. I was a professional portrait photographer for over 20 years and would have been proud to have any of your portraits hanging on my studio wall. I now take landscapes (lost my patience with humans, I think). However these do spark an interest in revisiting the art of portraiture.

I think your decision not to enter one in the "Best of 2005" was the right one, my entry would have dropped down if you had. :-)
