WOW, I did it...... I have just completed 831 COMMENTS on the 831 ENTRIES, in the "Best of 2005 Challenge".
The last 100 were a real slog, but I stuck it out, and have just finished five days later.
I believe that I can "HONESTLY" say that I saw the following percentages;
10% were EXCELLENT
15% were VERY GOOD
25% were GOOD
30% were AVERAGE
15% were FAIR/AVERAGE
05% were FAIR (Best of their Ability)
I made sure the comments were true, and not to hurt anyone.
(If I did, I am truely sorry.)
We have a large variation of people, from high quality professionals photographers, right down to the hobbiest, who just loves photography and tries their best, when entering this challenge.
I tried to remember that when commenting.
I just wanted to say that I am so proud of all of you, well done, and
CONGRATULATIONS.
I just can't wait to see the RESULTS.

Sherryl, that was quite an endeavor! You should be very proud of yourself! I can only guess that viewing so many photos in detail, in order to comment, must be a wonderful learning experience too. Congrats!

I am very impressed with the number of comments you have been able to make.
This morning, I spent about 30 minutes writing up a lengthy (and hopefully taken as supportive) critque/comment of someone who seems to be a fairly new member to DPChallenge.
It sometimes tears me up to write out comments/critique as I know how easy it is to come across like a total (you know what).
Anyway, just sharing. |

I guess I do have a lot of time on my hands, as a couple of people have commented, but there is a reason for that.....
I am not the best of health, and unable to do many things, including photography at this time. I love photography and DPChallenge gives me the chance to be involved, if only to comment and sometime vote. I also love to see all the wonderful photos you all take.
I am on a disability pension, and my husband who is my best friend, is also my career.
My computer is my lifeline each and every day, so now you will be able to see that yes, she does have time on her hands, and I just love spending my time here at DPChallenge.....
I look forward to reading any more comments, and please keep on taking more photos for me to enjoy.....

Sherryl, having swapped emails with you last week, I understand your disability and some health concerns, but I didn't realize it was keeping you from doing photography (or the amount of photography you would like to do). I hope that situation improves enough to get you and your camera back out there, everywhere! In the mean-time, I'm so glad you chose DPC as your connection to the photography world. So far, its been a pleasure having you among our community and I'm sure you will continute to contribute a lot to all of us. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.

Hey Sherryl, thanks so much sincerely. Did notice that you've been pretty constant in my comments box on recent challenges. Appreciate very much. Even if you have lots of time on your hands, I still say it's really great of you to make so much effort to write up your feedback on each and every photo. It's hard work and I know for a fact that it's not always well-received no matter how well-intentioned. So for my part, thank you again and I do welcome all feedback, good, bad or just plain "ugly"! :)
