Thanks DPC....A search led to some of my images at DPC by a researcher looking for Black and White images relating to music in the Philadelphia area. Trouble is....they want one or two LARGE prints....36 Horizontal or 36 Vertical. I have any idea of where I can get the prints done but what do I charge on top of the printing fees. This is a design related project, I guess for an interior, and the designer will give the yay or nay and if positive, the researcher will need some ideas. Any thoughts regarding this would be appreciated. Of course since I posted it, as in the past, it may not happen....so we will see. THX!

My company can do them for $6 a square foot :-D
They are lightjet, meaning processed just like real photos, not on a inkjet.

lightjet is worth it! i just had a 24 x 36 photo done (here in toronto) and it looked wonderful!! It was well worth the money spent and looked AWESOME next to the inkjet prints that someone else had done of the same photo (it was for hubbys work and a collage of employees for the owners)

Thanks, I have gift certificates from prizes for 4 20x30 prints at BigPrints. The cost may not be a factor for having them done. I really need some ideas for how much to charge over and above. I am assuming that I only have to supply the prints at this point and not the framing. That has not been mentioned. THX!

Normally we get $15 a square foot for Lightjet prints but the online market is full of low cost printers. Seems like everyone and their brother has gone and and purchased a wide format printer :-/
I figure, if we don't have to handle the photo other than output a file we can be plenty competitive on price. Its when the customer has color issues that we get screwed :-( So that is why we aren't set up to be an internet printer. |
