Who currently has a wide use printer (13" paper) and like it so much that you would recomend it to another?
Something i can do prints up to 13" and do them borderless.

I use the Canon i9900. I have printed over a thousand pictures, mostly on letter size. Just recently had to replace the print head. I'm pleased with it. It's been out over a year and there's no sign Canon is replacing yet. Any bigger than that and you have to move to their ProGraf line.

The new Epson 2400 IS awesome. That's what I would get if I sold my 2200.

I agree about the 2400 I use a 2200 with glossy photo paper on the roll it is just fantastic easy to profile and calibrate.

If the 2400 seems a little pricey, the 1800 is a darn fine printer too.

I've never used it so can't speak to the issue of print longevity but you can't beat it for the price and it is capable of what ChasSourik wants.

Hype from Costco describing the i9900 as able to handle an "amazing 13" x 19" poster-size borderless print" is overdone. 13" X 19" is a pretty small poster! :)

The smallest printers considered to be "wide format" have a 17" wide carriage and are somewhat more expensive.

I have been using an HP 1220C for several years and have been very satisfied with photo print quality, longevity of supplies and print speed. Also use it for general office printing. Unfortunately it is no longer manufactured.

When I replace it I will likely purchase another HP, probably the currently manufactured 8700 series. It is a bit pricey ($400) but uses a 9-ink system that provides awesome photo printing up to 13x19 border-less.

By the way, 13 inch is considered wide-format in the office/home environment; 17 inch is wide-format in the engineering/drafting environment.

I have the Epson 2200 and would highly recommend the 2400. This is another one of those us vs them issues tho. The Canon printers are nice as well.

I've been sold on Epsons ink technology for a very long time. The new 2400 has 200 year archival B&W printing.

I've had the Epson R1800 for about six months and have gone through complete ink change over about 6-8 times. I use it with Kodak Professional Luster photo Paper and it makes GREAT 13x19 prints that are 200 year archival. Totally satisfied in all respects.
