| I'm fairly new here so am making tons of mistakes. I wanted to try taking photos with totally black backgrounds and so visited the local Walmart for a yard of black felt. Do you need to wash it, brush it, beat it on a rock in the backyard creek or prepare it in some way first? I'm getting "reflection" off the felt which isn't what I want. In my Shapes II photo one comment was that it looked like carpet (it does!) Thanks for your assistance. |

I recently made a Wal-Mart Trip myself to get some "redneck photo supplies" (backdrop, lighting, etc.) I just bought a black sheet. It is dull and doesnt reflect. The problem with felt (if I am thinking right) is that it is smooth and silky, so it will have a tendency to reflect more. This photo
was taken with the "backdrop" listed above. I took many others with it too and the only ones that actually showed it as a sheet, is when I was overexposed or adjusted the brightness too much. Hope this helps some...nothing professional, but does the job. ;-)
