Cropping is too tight to the chin, kinda disturbs the whole photo for me. Otherwise the eyes are nice but the make-up job or flesh tones don't do justice. Her cheek on the left looks almost bruised.
The eyes are superbly captured. And if you zoomed out a tiny bit I think it would be much improved.

I kind of like the porcelain look of her face. The eyes and lips just jump out at you. Her somber expression has a haunting sadness to it. I'm not crazy about the blouse/scarf around the neck - maybe you could clone that part out, although it does tie in with the lip color. |

Or maybe go to black and white? It could help hide the lack of "warm" skin tones, and at the same time add to the serious "dark" feeling others have noticed too. |

Try adding some red in post-processing. That may give her skin a little life "life". I like the crop and composition. Just to try...if you are going to reshoot...try having her look somewhere else rather than at the lens. Serious expressions often turn pleasantly wistful or melancholy if the subject doesn't look at us directly. |

I like the close crop on her face. The dark background gives the picture an overall "dark" look, which coupled with the expression on her face, makes it feel like very serious portrait. This is not a bad thing at all. It makes for a portrait that conveys a very serious tone. The lighting looks good. You might want to bump the brightness and saturation a tiny bit. I'd probably tweak it with curves a tiny bit and see what results. |
