Ha, this post (hopefully) sounds far from sour grapes. I'm posting more as a commentary on human nature. I've been 12th or 13th now 3 times in the last 4 challenges...and it bugs me.

So for all of you out there who say, "If I could only get a 6...THEN I'd be happy!", it isn't true. Soon our everhungry egos want more. Now I'm disapointed when I don't Top 10.

So, for those who think scores are important (and, yes, I am among those people)...just don't think they are everything! Strive to improve, but don't base your worth on such things.

OK, I'm rambling at this point like a drunk guy at a wedding. I do want to get back to Top 10 though... :)

Not rambling Dr. Achoo... you're highly motivated and not easily satisfied... sounds like a winning combination... :)

Hey doc

I first started entering challenges to see how I'd go. Then I wanted a ribbon, then I wanted another to prove the first wasn't a fluke.

Now I do it for the update button.... :)

By the way...how's that Burst of Color entry of yours going ? ;)

bazz.

yesterday, when all the scores across the site were getting hit, it dropped about .15. It's creeping back up today.

I'm sure your asking, 'cuz I know that subject of your's is probably scoring well...am I right?

I dunno,

I fell kinda let down my Shapes2 entry didn't get above a 6. The anticipation of being let down from going a different direction than the norm here when it comes to pictures. I had a backlighting entry all ready to go, but decided it was a shot for the voters not me. Its just not worth it anymore to enter every challenge if all Im doing is trying to please the voters and not myself.

I understand what you are talking about..I wanted back in the 6's so bad I could taste it...but when I saw my score this morning for Backlighting I know I need to learn more about photography! My lowest score to date: low 4's..ugh!

Hang in there philup. I like your top 3 entries. When I see more than one shot in a portfolio of that quality, I know you have some talent. Sometimes the biggest lesson is learning what doesn't work. Sometimes it takes the low scores to figure that out...
