As some of you know, I am relatively new at this stuff, but every comment has made each capture better and better. I played some this weekend and got some "portraits" of the wife. I wanted to post this to get some comment/suggestions/critiques from you pros. Thanks in advance, and as always, every comment is helpful.

Well, I don't consider myself a pro, but I will comment if you want comments.

The crop isn't the greatest. The chin is too low in the photo. Maybe a long shot instead of sideways would have been better. Her eyes are gorgeous, but I would have liked to see something else in the photo that would bring them out more. Her skin tone is a little flat. Could be fixed in post processing I imagine, but I don't do portraits often, so its hard to say on that for me. I have done enhancements, but that is different. The only other thing is the placement. Too much dead space on the right. Very pretty wife though!!

Thx Rose, I will look into some of that when I get home. I have some more from this set that incorporate some of the elements you were discussing, but ...I might use those this month ;-)

Ok, I took some of your comments to heart and reworked it. I hope you remember the before (I replaced it so I could track comments) Any other thoughts are welcomed. It does look MUCH better thanks to you guys. Which is why I do so enjoy this site so much!!
