Sold two prints at the opening reception for my first ever gallery showing on Sunday!
They were:
...
(the second one is cropped different for the show)
A couple shots of the showing arrangement and images of all selected pieces for the show can be seen in this PBase gallery:
//www.pbase.com/azleader/bta_showing
I also got to meet, for the first time, fellow DPCers oOWonderBreadOo and Kmote and their families as well as seeing long time DPC friends tfaust, louddog, briphoto and lightpath.
All in all, it was a good day. :)

It's a great show and everyone in the area needs to go see it before the end of January. The photos are amazing, and to think none of them came from an SLR! Congrats on the sales as well!

Yeah... it is amazing what just a little 4-5 hours extra post processing time can do for an image. LOL!
Since it was your idea, do I owe you a commission for the fly image sale? ;)

Great stuff Steve, your images are beautiful. I have been toying with this idea for a while but need to get my butt into gear and get it done. Congratulations on the sales I am sure you will sell many more during the showing.
Edit to add: What size prints were these? and matts?

My prints are in two frame sizes with 3" and 4" mats. Twenty are 24" X 18" and three larger ones are 28" X 22". I sold one large one and one small. A picture of the setup is at the gallery referenced above.
You will not make lots of money at showings. What you get is exposure and recognition which will increase your marketability. The real money is in portraits, weddings, event photography and traditional photography markets. I don't think many stock or fine art photographers do that well. But if you do good work you will slowly develope a reputation that will attract future more lucrative customers. Remember, there is no substitute for quality.
Lots of places out there are looking for artists to display their works. You just need to keep your eyes open. There are plenty of public buildings, businesses, galleries and public places like Boyce that are constantly looking for new artwork to display. They often have "Featured Artist" monthly displays like Boyce does. A photographer I know also has a display like mine locally this month at the Superstition Mountains Museum.
Joining a local art society is another good way to make contacts as well.
