My profile says I killed 3 threads, and I didn't kill or delete anything that I know of. :) What does it mean?
01/07/2006 09:16:18 AM · #2
It means you made the last post in 3 threads.

IMO it is a really dumb stat to keep. It just inhibits people from posting comments in fear of killing the thread. (somebody please post something else)

Thank you for answering, cloudsme and ClubJuggle. LOL I saved you. So basically it means that I'm a conversation killer. :(

Either that or a helpful question-answerer. :)

I think it's a dumb stat to keep because it encourages some people to continue to post on a thread just to be able to acquire another thread-killed point.

I'm curious as to why this statistic was added in the first place. As to posting, it will encourage those who want "thread kill" points and discourage those who don't. Otherwise, it seems to be an interesting yet useless statistic.

because a lot of people begged landgon to add it when he added thread created.
Its meant as a bit of fun, it was done whimically.
People need to quit taking such a friviolous thing so seriously.
(and if you think it is a negative stat - please realise that the thread killer king is Bear_music - because he is incredibly helpful, and answers a lot of questions, and not because no one wants to talk to him).

lol at this other site I visited i was sure i was online the most of any user. I always requested a ranking of the most active (timewise) of the website. Would love to see it here, Bear might be the winner here.

I honestly feel that I post less because of this statistic. It bothers me to kill a thread, and to have it flashed out for everyone to see makes me think twice before posting. I see no value in the statistic. I think it should be removed. (somebody please post something else)

i think it is a totaly pointless stat that i love. There is nothing wrong with a bit of pointlessness in this world.

Exactly.

IMHO I feel that it has effected the forums in a negative way. It seems there are fewer new post, longer times between post, and some never get a reply.

It's worse than pointless, it is very negative and inhibits people from posting.

I admit to recommending the stat; as a joke .

Genera._E is very helpful as well, but the SC isn't allowed in the normies division of thread killing as they can lock threads. ;-)

If you can find a single thread that General_E has locked, I'd love to see it.

That's this one shot dead then :)
