After my post regarding usernames I was going to post a followup thread on occupations.
I am please to announce (for the benefit of all, especially site council), that I did a search and found this thread.
So...to get this thread back into circulation for those of us new since October 2, 2004...What do you do for a living????
I work for an organization in the Energy Services industry and manage the Canadian financing programs providing residential and small commercial customers with the ability to purchase and finance HVAC equipment (furnances, air conditions, boilers, gas fireplaces, etc) as well as home improvements.
Yes, in case you're wondering, it's incredibly exciting.
Newbies (and seasoned veterans who have not responded)...What do you do?

I'm a silly little student.
Here's a clue: if you ask me how many people it takes to change a lightbulb, my answer will be "does it have to be a lightbulb?"

Retired architectural photographer/photography teacher. Retired chef (continental and pacific-rim). Currently artist, freelance editor, freelance book designer. I have written and published poetry all my life, but never earned an income from it. In my youth I was a sailmaker and a semi-pro sailboat racer. And oh, yeah, I used to own a fishing tackle shop, and I did graphic design/typesetting for an embroidery/silkscreen shop and a printer in San Diego, which is where I grew up. Both the latter after I retired from photography, as was the cheffing.
It's exhausting just looking back on it.
Robt.

Well, I'm next door. Tour-guide around Iceland and sometimes to Prague. Almost a crime not to own a DSLR in that business.

I currently work for free as radiologic technologist in training. They will start paying me for it when I graduate next year. Hopefully that will help me pay for med school a few years after that.

I retired from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in 1996 and on occasion perform security consulting work for Canadian Government Departments. Following my retirement from the RCMPolice, I was hired as a site supervisor for a residential building firm, and I still perform these functions on occasion. |
