Is the use of perspective cropping, or perspective transformation, or what ever you wish to call it, legal in basic editing?
For example, I have a "leaning" building in a photograph, that I would like to stand upright.

No, it moves pixels based on where they are located -- nothing that effects pixels based on their location is legal.
Could be wrong though -- have been before when interpreting the rules.

I think this is illegal in basic editing but legal in advanced. |

I believe it's legal. It's not doing selective pixel modification.

This might be one of those case-by-case issues that could be legal in basic, depending on the extent to which the effect is applied. I can't see how a modest use of perspective to straighten the lines of a "leaning" building would violate the rules. SC please step in and clear this up! |

Couldn't find where I had asked (in prior forum thread), but did find this:

edit to add another thread link on the same topic: Are transform allowed?

it's not legal in basic. i don't like it, but that's the precedent.
the same thing goes for "de-fishing" a fisheye image. unless that is done in your RAW converter, it's not allowed in basic editing. |
