I have an image in one of the current challenges. It was an offshoot of a concept I had been working on for a client the past month.

Well, the image I have entered here was received sorta lukewarm. People liked the overall design and were drawn to the basic element but wanted so see some changes. I agreed and have been working on the changes.

One of my clients was looking through some of my entries and noticed the changed image and loved it. Boom...he bought it as part of a set of ads we are running!

This is definitely the case where popular opinion voting can help photographers sharpen ideas...

Just thought I would throw this in the mix as we have been debating style and voting and stuff hot and heavy for while lately. :-D

I'll post the two photos..my entry and my rework as soon as the challenge ends.

Sellout. Bending to the will of the corporate masses. Where's your integrity?

Yep!! Actually...I would fight the will of the people if it their will was against my concept! In this instance my concerns and questions with the image were answered here..unfortunately my score will pay for it..but hey...that's why we are all here..to learn and grow.

The history of this photo was the same for many here..I was shooting about 2 hours from the deadline of a challenge which is not normally enough time to truly form an idea, practice a few runs at it, and then process it properly.

Plus, the changes I made are a perfect example of why you should bracket your shots so you can capture the highs and lows of an image. Unfortunately, combining bracketed shots here is against the rules...which is a shame considering it is such a common practice in photography that we should all be able to do it when dealing with important images.

Anyways, just trying to share stuff I learn here..hope it helps others.
