Is B&H a good company to buy from? What are the most credible companies out there? I don't want to buy gray market items...and I want to have a good return policy (if it's needed).

B&H is the most credible out there. You may find lower price elsewhere, but if it is MUCH lower than b&h, it ain't right.
Edit to add: B&H themselves offer non-US warranty products, and that usually changes warranty - instead of the manufacturer offering the warranty, you have to go through B&H if something goes wrong. And the price difference isn't that big in B&H case.
I left them a lot of money in the past... although my most recent purchase was from dell.com.

B&H is top notch. I'd suggest buying grey markert & get a mack warranty. You will save money and have a longer warranty. Remember if you are talking digital cameras or lenses form a major manafacturer, none is made in the states. For example Nikon USA is an importing company only. The products they sell are the same ones you can get else where. They are just a middle man.
And I don't buy the arguement about wanting to deal with local vendors for warranty repairs, because the majority of the time your item is shipped off for repair. |

I had to return a teleextender once, and they took it back without any problem. I recommend them. |

I just placed an order with B&H
I got this..
Canon ET-67 Lens Hood for EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro Lens $39.95
Canon 72C Macrolite Adapter $29.95
Canon MR-14EX TTL Ring Lite Flash (Guide No. 46'/14 m) USA $449.95
Canon Telephoto EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro Autofocus Lens Imported $449.95
Canon Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM Autofocus Lens Imported $1,139.95
Sub Total $2,109.75
this is the 11th time I order from B&H, I got most of my lenses from B&H and I got my 20D from them..
very respectable firm, and the only time I got a faulty product they refunded the product imediatly after I sent them an email with a picture of the faulty item, they didn't even ask to get the item back. |

If you ever get to New York, go by their operation (but not on Saturday...Orthodox Jews and they're closed)...and get out your credit card. Wonderful shopping experience, well organized, and great people to help you select what you need. |
