As probably no one here knows, my camera went down 2 weeks ago, and here is my story...
First let me commend Best Buy.
As you all know, my camera took a crap on me 2 weeks ago.
I dropped off my camera to Best Buy on 11/25/05.
The gentleman helping me was very friendly (especially since it was Black Friday) and very helpful. He took my baby, I wept a tear as he took it off into the back to prepare for departure to Connecticut for repairs.
They replaced the mirror and the associated mechanisms inside.
The final repair ticket was written up 12/1/05 and shipped that same day.
I picked it up today, 12/6/05.
Folks, if you send it to canon, they take at least 3-4 weeks minimum.
I can not stress enough how the 4 year extended warranty is worth the $99 dollars. With this all being said and done, I do believe when I upgrade I will be purchasing the 20D from Best Buy.
Here is to you my friends of Best Buy, an applaud! *claps*
Did I mention I didnt have to pay a dime?

Hmmm, well you got lucky, I have nothing but problems with best buy.
In fact I never buy anything there. Don't even get me started on my dislike of them... But glad it worked out for you... |

it comes in REAL handy once the 1 year manufacturers warranty goes out.
Im about to take my hi8 cam corder in to get fixed before the 4 years is up. Hopefully it cant be repaired so I can get a replacement :)
