This offer was made as a simple gesture on my part for those people who are not satisfied with their present e-mail supplier
It wasn't made for the bitchy whiners nor the whiney bitchers. I assure you I apologize for the disruption this may have caused your already over frustrated little space.
As for the panic caused by the term Google, what dark little hole does your paranoid mind run and hide in when it hears the term Microsoft. roflmao@you

Isn't that the one that scans your e-mail messages for keywords so that advertisers can "target" you?

A human will never ever see your email, or even know that their ad was seen by you. They will know that someone saw their ad, but most likely won't even be able to know if the ad was viewed as a search result or as a gmail ad. Google guarantees that. It's all automated by their computers.

There is no difference between ads from a search and a gmail ad. If you are worried about gmail ads, then you shouldn't use search engines either.

I'd be far more concerned with the next generation of physical advertisements that will use camera's to figure out your identity and personalize the ads based on such.

Imagine walking down the street and having a billboard announce "Jadin! We thought you might like to see more of our Hot Midget Porn!!"

of course, if you use a pop3 client then you negate the benifit of having web based email, ie, you can't take them with you to any and every computer...

Sure you can. You can use a pop3 client and still access the gmail account normally through the web. I use pop3 for my home access and the web when I'm away from my own computer.

You can always leave a copy on the web.

While i have 3 gmail accounts, for the life of me i can't get the pop3 to work in microsoft outlook. I've done exactly the settings gmail suggests and it still won't connect to their server... Rather frustrating as i'm losing my oh so nice university imap e-mail when june rolls around. Anybody have a similar situation and was able to resolve it?
